Self-care for those who care so much

Sometimes, self-care is one of the most difficult things we can participate in, but it is so important. When we give so much of ourselves, our time, energy and often, our identity as an individual, finding even a few moments for ourselves can seem impossible.
Whether it's getting a chance to indulge in a good book, a bubble bath, visit with a friend or a weekend away, every little bit helps.
We can feel like the bottom of the family totem pole. Forget our own names, used to being called X's mum or dad, brother or sister, grandparent or carer. We sacrifice our wants and needs for those of others.
Always remember how important you are. You are the star of the show.
If you'd like help working out a way to include self-care into your schedule, or just need a friendly ear to vent to, drop us a line.

Music, maestro!

While it has been clinically proven that music can have an effect on mood, it is a very personal, subjective experience. One song can have an incredibly uplifting effect on one person, but could trigger memories or sadness in another.
I must admit, music has played a large role in my life, and I can't imagine a day without it. For over a decade I stopped listening to music that I loved on a regular basis. Once I started again it had a profound change on my mood. Some songs that had made me sad before I was starting to see in a new way.
I have a list of songs that always make me feel better if I'm feeling down, some that are empowering, and others that are great for getting my energy levels up (I need all I can get when it comes to cleaning the house!).
Are there any songs that give you a boost? That bring a smile to your face whenever you hear it?
Please send us an email at [email protected] with your list of faves, and we'll add it to the online list for everyone to share (I will add it as a separate blog post).
Keep dancing on the inside, friends.
Sending stardust melodies,
-S

We are so proud to wish our supreme overlord and taskmaster, Evangeline, a happy 3rd birthday!
It has been a strange, perilous journey but we wouldn't change it for the world. Except maybe the party-all-night-sleep-all-day thing, at least until she's seventeen.
Best wishes and stardust,
-S

Hi all.
I am so excited to announce that I have completed the training for the Hocus Focus curriculum, and I'm ready to bring it to schools and community groups in the Blue Mountains.
I am surprised at how awesome this curriculum is and can't wait to see how much of a difference it will make. I feel supremely lucky and grateful to be a part of this ground-breaking work.
If you are interested in having us bring Hocus Focus to your school or community group, please drop us a line to arrange a meeting to discuss the possibilities.
Love and stardust,
-S
